Job Description

To start with, the position of EU Buyer Packaging Materials, Flexibles sits comfortably in the Procurement Organization which is on its Journey to World Class. As a EU Buyer Packaging Materials you will be asked to deliver Value through the most competitive cost & cash supply base whilst delivering non-negotiable excellence in Service, Quality and Sustainability. For this, we don’t just need you to be a knowledgeable professional but also strongly rely on your interpersonal skills as well as your drive for success. Know that you’ll have a crucial role in creating and protecting the impact we look for in our value chain. With this said, we like you to take responsibility over the following tasks:

  • Ensure Operational Excellence from the Suppliers in day-to-day supply and Projects delivery for 14 JDE Manufacturing unit’s in EU that use this material.
  • Deliver Cost & Cash targets whilst maintaining Quality and Service.
  • Drive Responsible sourcing and sustainability initiatives for the categories with suppliers to meet ESG targets
  • Drive strategy execution and value creation programs, encompassing the implementation of tenders, onboarding new suppliers, and introducing new materials and specifications across all factories
  • Support the development of sourcing strategies and collaborate with the Global Strategic Sourcing Team
  • Create and maintain relationships with key stakeholders on regional, local and factory level
  • Provide the first line of escalation on issues between suppliers and the business
  • Know suppliers market and maintain a strong multitier suppliers pool
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and possess a thorough understanding of and manage compliance with the combined business model.

Given the nature of the role we feel it's important for you to have solid experience with leading and implementing complex cross-functional projects as well as a solid understanding of your own added value. We thrive in diverse teams and look for people that appreciate that as much as we do. We can give you a list of “must haves,” however that’s not how we view your candidacy. We do, of course, take into consideration how much experience you have with Packaging and Procurement but ultimately, we look at the bigger picture. But to give you a bit of guidance as to what we feel is needed in this role, we’ll share our “nice to have” list with you:

  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree
  • At least three years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • An excellent track record of delivering complex projects and service improvement activities
  • Successful experience of leading cross-functional teams that focus on the lowest total cost of ownership as a key target
  • Ability to work under pressure, high level of stress resistance
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • The ability to thrive with ambiguity and change
